Using the Oils

I’m a big fan of diffusing essential oils for stress and anxiety, and aromatherapy is one of my favorite therapies.

Essential oils that reduce stress and anxiety are mixed with a carrier oil and applied to the feet before bed for a restful night’s sleep without worry. Experiment to discover which combination you like best and makes you feel peaceful.

Any carrier oil you like

almond oil – for carrier oil is good to use, almond oil is a great choice. It’s rich and nourishing and perfect for your skin.

grapeseed oil – light and easily absorbed by the skin

jojoba oil – another good carrier which is thinner than grapeseed or apricot kernel oils

olive oil – not as nourishing as almond oil, but it’s heavy and leaves your skin feeling soft

coconut oil – not the best choice for the face, but it’s wonderful for massaging into your feet. A few drops will do!

Do not use cooking or heating oils

Do not utilize cooking or heating oils such as canola, safflower, sunflower, or soybean oil. These are mixtures of oils that may not include the essential oil to be utilized for aromatherapy.
